Sziasztok!
Üdv a kvantum számítástudomány szeminárium levelezőlistáján!
A szeminárium honlapja még szerkesztés alatt áll, de már meg tudjátok
tekinteni itt:
https://sites.google.com/view/quantumcsseminar
Az első előadás február 11.-én lesz 16:30-18:00 között. Friedl Katalin fog
https://www.mcqst.de/qip2021/program/conference-program/
Regisztálni egyelőre még továbbra is lehet ingyenesen a fenti honlapon
keresztül. Pár részletes információt még továbbítok a levél alján.
Üdv:
Gilyén András

*Subject:* QIP 2021 preliminary program information
Dear participant of QIP 2021,
Here is some information to help you navigate the program of QIP 2021.
The *full conference program* is available here:
www.mcqst.de/qip2021/program/conference-program/
Please note that *all times are Central European Time (CET)*, the time zone
commonly associated with Paris/Berlin (GMT+1). It is unfortunate that we
cannot cater to all timezones and not everyone can be present at all times.
We are glad to be able to offer you *recordings of the talks*. They will be
made accessible on the conference website. Other activities/events will not
be recorded.
You are invited to attend our *tutorials* (starting this Saturday morning
at 10am). The actual conference will start on Monday morning at 8.15am.
In addition to our regular invited and contributed talks, poster- and
industry sessions about quantum science and technology, we would like to
highlight the following program items:
** Panel discussion** „A conversation with women in quantum science and
technology"**: *On Sunday morning (from 8.30 am), we will have a panel
discussion with the following panelists: Nilanjana Datta, Maria Kieferova,
Laura Mančinska, and Mio Murao. We invite everyone to participate: This is
an inclusive event focusing on academic careers that highlights several
female role models. It is an opportunity for young researchers to ask
questions pertaining to work and life in quantum science and technology.
(You do not need to be registered for the tutorial to join).
** Diversity in Quantum Science and Technology:* To show our support for
building a diverse and inclusive STEM community, we are pleased to have
Prof. Havi Carel (University of Bristol) give a talk on* "How to promote
social justice in academia" *on Wednesday (12.30pm).
** Mentoring sessions: *We have recruited *more than 50 experienced quantum
science researchers* for our QIP 2021 mentoring program. They will meet
with you (students and postdocs) in small groups to share their experience
and perhaps offer their advice on how to become a successful researcher
and/or other aspects of life and science. Spaces are limited and will be
assigned by a lottery. Registration is required *BEFORE* the conference:
https://indico.physik.uni-muenchen.de/e/qip2021-mentoring *Deadline: *Sunday,
January 31, 6pm CET.
** Mingling:* We organize *one-on-one networking sessions* - a great way to
meet new people, old friends, and make valuable connections. Participants
get randomly matched up for one-on-one discussions for 3 minutes. You can
try it in the 2D conference space (MeetAnyway). *It is a lot of fun! *
** Quantum Tea / Breakfast Club:* Find out who else is here and discuss in
a casual atmosphere different serious (Quantum Computing: hype or hope?)
and not so serious topics (What’s your favorite Bavarian dish?). You can
join and leave tables as you wish. Perfect for meeting colleagues and
catch up with them!
** Private Screening of the Movie „The Bit Player“ about Claude Shannon:*
There would not be a QIP without him! MCQST sponsors *a private viewing of
the movie on Vimeo*, which will be available until the end of the
conference. Please do not share the private password with other parties.
The corresponding link is https://vimeo.com/504951714, the associated
password will be provided during the conference (check the conference
program).
** Munich Quantum Stammtisch on „Quo vadis quantum computers?":* Ignacio
Cirac invited experts on quantum computing to discuss with them in a casual
atmosphere about the status quo and future of quantum computers. *Guests
are:* Scott Aaronson (Texas Univ), Dorit Aharonov (Hebrew Univ.), Rainer
Blatt (Univ. Innsbruck | AQT), John Martinis (UCSB | SQC) and Mikhail Lukin
(Harvard). *Watch it live on YouTube!* This will be the inaugural event of
a new series on the MCQST YouTube channel:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCchw3mejBRux6w9bh4DNQEA .
** QIP Quiz:* team up with QIP participants from around the globe to take
part in this *quantum quiz*, with serious and funny questions, all related
to quantum science!
Last but not least, we would like to *thank all of you for participating in
QIP 2021*. It is everyone's great interest, enthusiasm, individuality and
curiosity that make this global scientific get-together a unique event. We
hope that you'll be able to engage in many stimulating discussions during
the coming days, learn lots of new stuff, and really enjoy the conference!
Best regards,
The local organizers of QIP 2021
