addition to our regular invited and contributed talks, poster- and
industry sessions about quantum science and technology, we would like to
highlight the following program items:<br><br><b>* Panel discussion</b><i> <b>„A conversation with women in quantum science and technology"</b></i><b>: </b>On
Sunday morning (from 8.30 am), we will have a panel discussion with the
following panelists: Nilanjana Datta, Maria Kieferova, Laura Mančinska,
and Mio Murao. We invite everyone to participate: This is an inclusive
event focusing on academic careers that highlights several female role
models. It is an opportunity for young researchers to ask questions
pertaining to work and life in quantum science and technology. (You do
not need to be registered for the tutorial to join).<br><br><b>* Diversity in Quantum Science and Technology:</b>
To show our support for building a diverse and inclusive STEM
community, we are pleased to have Prof. Havi Carel (University of
Bristol) give a talk on<i> "How to promote social justice in academia" </i>on Wednesday (12.30pm).<br><br><b>* Mentoring sessions: </b>We have recruited <b>more than 50 experienced quantum science researchers</b>
for our QIP 2021 mentoring program. They will meet with you (students
and postdocs) in small groups to share their experience and perhaps
offer their advice on how to become a successful researcher and/or other
aspects of life and science. Spaces are limited and will be assigned by
a lottery. <span style="color:rgb(255,38,0)">Registration is required</span> <b><span style="color:rgb(255,38,0)">BEFORE</span></b> <span style="color:rgb(255,38,0)">the conference:</span> <a href="https://indico.physik.uni-muenchen.de/e/qip2021-mentoring"><span style="color:blue">https://indico.physik.uni-muenchen.de/e/qip2021-mentoring</span></a> <b><span style="color:rgb(255,38,0)">Deadline:</span><span style="color:rgb(119,187,64)"> </span></b>Sunday, January 31, 6pm CET.<br><br><b>* Mingling:</b> We organize <b>one-on-one networking sessions</b>
