[P4] EIT Digital proposal - Deeply programmable high-speed data planes

Dear Sándor,

Just a comment as I got to talk briefly with a representative of the EIT Digital Stockholm node in the same building as SICS: regarding the sustainability part (as well as the KPI targets), it appears that a clearly measurable outcome in the ideal case would be some kind of startup in the end, created and maintained by industrial partners. So this is something to bring up with the BDA and to consider further.

Another comment on the current proposal:
- We have very many tasks which may raise questions. Usual number of tasks are 2-4 approximately. One could for example consider the following:
- A1801 Activity management
- A1802 Development and integration of high-speed data plane technology (covering 02,03,04)
- A1803 Technology transfer to products (remove ‘experimental’ for less ‘feel’ of research which EIT rather not see)
- A1804 Business strategy and application use case (covering 07 and 05 - the benefit of having use cases as single task is not obvious and should probably be avoided)
- I have an issue to add KCA’s - do other partners experience the same?

I hope you managed to open the proposal document on the EIT portal. I made an attempt to fill all the relevant boxes in the forms.

I ask you to check it and feel free to modify the content or send me your suggestion. * Ericsson - ELTE could take the lead of this proposal, but my opinion that it would be stronger if Ericsson as the business champion can take this role.
* Estimate numbers for the sustainability part - based on education...? Do we need an educational task? Currently, it is also part of the technical tasks.

Please try to cover APs by tomorrow evening.

!!!! One more IMPORTANT thing: If you edit anything on the portal, please click on the save button after every changes, since it may happen that the session is expired and then every changes is lost and you have to do every modification again. Unfortunately, I know what I am talking about. So try to avoid working twice.
