[P4] Summary P4-design meeting

Hi,

Kb. fél órás volt a meeting. Zanzásítva a lényeg:
* Final, P4-16 spec by end of Nov.
* The date of the P4-16 code release is not clear, different povs, 
somewhere btw end of Sept and end of Nov. (my feeling is that it will be 
released together with the spec.)
* Active threads on design list:
     ** preprocessors
     ** types
     -> conclusions are still missing
     -> besides Mihai someone should take the lead in this. <- no volunteer
* We have to specify what we do not want to add to the spec... what P4 
does not want to cover...
* p4c-16 can freely be used internally
     ** wrt IR
     ** BMv2 is the only backend now
     ** feedback is needed for other HW targets
* Question related to backend support - HLIR:
     ** There are no plant to update HLIR to support P4-16 - IR is part 
of the new P4C, doing it differently.
* Standard switch architecture:
     ** check p4c/p4include/v1model.p4
     ** where to do checksum calculation (anywhere, deparsing, etc.), 
feedback from hw targets
     ** implementation effect on backends
* PI API
     ** will be released in few months
     ** contrubutions are welcome - contact Antonin to get access to the 
private repo
* An API subcommunity is needed
     ** requirement gathering state
     ** few 2-3 persons to work on it
     ** work item suggestions will be discussed on the list
     ** who want to lead this - may be Intel (Intel was not present)
