Hi,

We visited Berkeley last week since we took over the technical driver
role from the Santa Clara unit (kind of funny but as Scott Shenker said:
common interests are more important than geographical distance). We had
a really good workshop with quite some topics. One seems a bit related
to our P4 activities. This is an inetersting idea from some folks at
Berkeley, they call it “packet state load balancer”. They have P4 code
describing the behavior you might want to try out.

It might worth the time to have a better look into this.

We also visited Barefoot networks where we had a good conversation also
with some technical people. I think we learned a few things (well, a bit
less really new things than I expected), but most probably the important
stuff is that we’ll be able to use their compiler and simulator quite
soon (they’re fixing some legal issues with some lawyers in Sweden J) +
now they are also aware of the hardware order at Unicamp.

BR,

Gergely
