Hello Prof. Sándor Laki,

I am Kashyap Thimmaraju, a PhD student at TU Berlin. My supervisor is
Prof. Jean-Pierre Seifert. I attended the pre-call workshop and found
your pitch to be interesting. It aligns well with our research
interests in high speed data planes. However, our focus is on the
security aspects of such data planes.

We (FGSecT at TU Berlin) are interested in partnering with you on
"Deeply programmable high-speed data planes". In particular we would
like to provide expertise and resources in the security aspects of
programmable data planes. Additionally, together we can work on the
business side of the proposal.

To provide you with some insight on what our background is on the
matter, we have already scratched the surface of programmable software
switches such as OvS wrt security [1]. On the hardware front, we have
bootstrapped an SDN FGPA switch, ONET as well. Introducing support for
P4 is in the pipeline. We have experience working with SDN controllers
such as ONOS [2] and OpenStack [3]. We have the infrastructure to
carry out dynamic program analysis on data plane elements.
Furthermore, we have the infrastructure to accurately and precisely
measure forwarding performance using the Endace DAG card. Last but not
least, our chair has excellent technical knowledge combined with the
experience of transforming research prototypes into successful spin-offs
.

Do let us know if you would like to involve us as a partner in your
venture. If so, how can we take this forward?
