P4 designers,

First, a reminder that there is no meeting today.

Second, the following were the outstanding matters after the last 
meeting, on 21 November, prior to a pre-release of the P4_14 spec to the 
community:

-Tracking the reference implementation status. The only missing thing at 
thatpoint was"switch.p4 in P4_14 --> switch.p4 in P4_16 --> compile it 
--> test it with BMv2".

-Do the action items we derived at our last meeting. Issues #76, #65, 
#60, and #59 led to work items -- either spec update or some 
implementation changes.

-Giving a brief summary of some of the important outstanding git issues 
in an Appendix so that people can ensure some visibility into what kind 
of improvement discussions are happening.

I’m pleased to report that these have all been dealt with, and 
particular thanks are due to Calin, Chris, Mihai, Nate, and Steffen, for 
their work on this.

The latest update on the reference implementation is that we have met 
the minimum bar on the p4c implementation, by having:

-A current p4c that compiles correctly switch.p4 in P4_14, as well as 
the automatically converted to P4_16 version.

-A version of manually coded switch.p4 in P4_16 which is also correctly 
compiled and passes tests.

-All the tests in the p4lang repository run on this compiler.

*Prior to release of the spec, we ask all members of the group to have a 
final look at the document during the next couple of days, to check that 
it looks ready to go.*
